We’re excited to launch New England Book Artists’ Co-working sessions!
Join NEBA book artists for a fun and productive Zoom-based working session.
These Zoom sessions will occur on the last Friday of each month are led by Cristina Hajosy. As a member of the College Book Art Association (CBAA), she was introduced to co-working as part of their Northeast Pod led by artist and art educator, Melanie Mowinski. Her description of the concept is that of a collaborative work time – with the emphasis on WORK. The practice encourages completion of tasks whether bookbinding, mixed media, studio clean-up, paperwork, and really anything on your list. It provides motivation and accountability for artists by giving a monthly deadline, of sorts.
It’s not a critique session, but small kernels of feedback may occur during the quick breaks.
Here’s how it works:
- 4:30pm Greetings and brief introductions for 5 – 10 minutes max.
- We’ll step away to work for 25 minutes. Participants typically turning off sound and video within Zoom. Setting a timer is recommended.
- We’ll return to Zoom for another 5 minutes to touch base, comment, etc.
- This pattern of 25 minutes of working, then 5 minutes of interaction will continue for the 2-hour session.
- The Zoom chat is available to connect participants to one another for further conversations, resource sharing and more in-depth feedback.
