BIO
I was brought up in Western Massachusetts. I received a BS in Clothing and Textile Technology from UMass Amherst and an AAS in Apparel Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and have spent my professional life designing and developing apparel products. I am a self-taught book artist and work in a studio at my house. I live with my husband on a farm in Vermont, where we grow our own food and make pizza on Friday nights for 8 months of the year.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I have had a life-long love affair with the handmade. I have explored many ways of expressing thoughts through textiles, paper, and design. So when I was introduced to book arts, I found the freedom and joy of combining them intensely satisfying.

I work intuitively, choosing materials and/or structures before settling on a theme. I like to use recycled or repurposed materials and try not to ever buy anything for a project. I hunt through my collection of lonely scraps salvaged from old clothes, old and new magazines, and the recycling bin to find inspiration.

I love a new structure or construction, and while I am a perfectionist in some areas of my life, I find myself zipping through a project because I can’t wait to see it finished and to move on to the next.
