BIO

I hold a BFA in Drawing from Philadelphia College of Art (UArts) and San Francisco Art Institute, and MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College. I currently teach art at Lasell University and a summer book-art workshop at Truro Center for the Arts, Castle Hill on Cape Cod. I have taught art and design at Newbury College, Massachusetts College of Art, UMass Lowell, UMass Boston, Bunker Hill Community College, The Art Institute of Boston (now Lesley University), Mt Ida College, Pine Manor College, Emerson University, and Boston Architectural College.

My artwork is represented by Galatea Fine Art, SOWA Artists District, Boston and the Center for Book Art, NYC. I am founder of Beyond the Book, an annual exhibition of book art since 2006, in partnership with Boston Public Library.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My creative process is focused on marrying thematic content to a physical form that illuminates and transforms. My artist’s books develop through research, sketches and notes; I adapt, modify and invent to find book forms that eloquently speak to content. While I often use traditional book-art materials, I also use found materials and incorporate craft techniques. My intent is to evoke and suggest, to open a conversation.
