Adrift is composed of cyanotypes created from my photographs of whale bones and sea life.  I found the whale bones laid out on a beach in the Galapagos Islands: stark white and bleached against the volcanic sand. The book is a ‘captains log,’ chronicling my observations of elemental forces.

Gift from the Sea
Handmade paper, foam core, ink painting, shells, feathers, stones, bamboo
6.5 x 8.5 x 4″
NFS
This book/box is an exploration in space, form and sound. Echoing the rhythms of the ocean: inside and hidden are small stones that make a sound when the book is held. I like to take part of nature home with me when I walk on the beach. The broken shell spoke to me because of its imperfect surface weathered by time.
