Artist’s BIO

Tina Egnoski is a writer, papermaker, and bookbinder. She’s the author of five books, both fiction and poetry. Her most recent books include the novel Burn Down This World and short story collection You Can Tell Me Anything. In 2021, she turned her love of everything “books” into creating one-of-a kind handmade journals, starting the small business Wordlily. She’s held many jobs—fundraiser, conference planner, administrative assistant—primarily in academic settings. She currently works at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Artist’s Statement

I took my first bookbinding workshop in 2018 and became fascinated with the book as creative expression. Since then, I’ve been exploring text and image in the form of artist books. To create images, I use a variety of techniques—eco-printing, gel printing, pulp painting, and collage. I take inspiration from the Japanese practice of wabi-sabi, using simple materials and letting happy accidents and imperfection guide my process.
