Building Books 2 – Twiggs Gallery, 2024

artist's book by Tony(a) LemosThe Little House Within a House – Ode to Virginia Lee Burton
$150

The fable of the “little house” has stuck with me since I was a child. For those who don’t know a little house gets swallowed up by urban sprawl, and eventually gets moved out to the county. It speaks to slow, deliberate and simple living.

A life long environmentalist and plant person, Tony(a) Lemos is a process based, nature inspired, conceptual artist who works at the intersection of art and herbalism. Presently her work includes eco-printing, photopolymer printmaking as well alternative photography methods, often combining mixed media and found objects into artist’s books. She likes to explore symbolism from her ancestry (Greek/Middle East) while deepening her sense of place on Pocumtuc/Nipmuc territory where she has called home for over 30 years.
